High school students with Ocean City Theatre Company perform the Kander and Ebb musical at the Music Pier on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

The show
Students in grades 9 to 12 perform the musical, which has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff. The story is set in Berlin in the 1920s and follows its characters as Germany moves toward the rise of the Third Reich. It deals with love, ambition and a changing world.

Tickets are sold at oceancitytheatrecompany.com. Prices weren't listed in the city's calendar, so check the theater company's site for current prices and seats.
A note for families
"Cabaret" deals with adult themes. Parents may want to read about the show before bringing younger kids.
About the company
Ocean City Theatre Company puts on shows at the Music Pier and runs theater programs for local students. Fall shows like this one are a good way to see the Music Pier off-season, when parking is easy and the Boardwalk is quiet.

Getting there
The Music Pier sits on the Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace, between 8th and 9th streets. Off-season parking downtown is usually easy, and the walk from Asbury Ave. is only a few blocks. If you're coming for both shows on the same weekend, there are plenty of places to eat downtown between them.
It's a chance to see some of the area's young performers on a real stage.
